PARC 2020 CONFERENCE SPECIAL EDITION CALL FOR PAPERS.
This issue marks the 5 year anniversary of the Participatory Autism Research Collective (PARC) with a special edition of Autism Policy & Practice.
PARC is an autistic-led network of autism stakeholders, providing a community whose agenda is to increase autistic involvement in autism research. Traditionally, PARC has hosted a conference at London South Bank University, unfortunately due to the Coronavirus outbreak it has to be postponed until 2021. Autism Policy & Practice have agreed with the chair of PARC, Dr Damian Milton to produce an outlet for those who were planning on attending the 2020 PARC conference with a special edition.
We invite contributions from experiential, empirical, theoretical, and practical perspectives to critically explore autism. Possible themes include but are not limited to:
- Participatory and emancipatory research
- Theoretical and conceptual understandings of autism and autistic ways of being
- Critical evaluations of support strategies, interventions and public policy
- Research methodologies and ethics
- Cultural representations of autism
Related topics are also welcome: please contact our editorial board.

Accepted manuscripts should be published within 6 months of submission as part of a rolling publication of this special edition.
We look forward to receiving your submissions.
